"The Book Of Eden" - the soundtrack for the bestselling novel "The Book Of Eden".
Violet interpret
Kay Meyer's historical and fantastical journey through medieval Europe. The CD is released in a lavishly designed digipak.
Twenty rhythmical and atmospheric tracks acoustically illustrate the story of Favola, Aelvin, Albertus Magnus and Libuse: the musicians of Violet lead the listener through adventurous and abysmal scenes to the sounds of the dulcimer, the bagpipe and the violin - all with a healthy dose of electronical sounds. Hellish shawms, silvery harpsichords and mystical female vocals complete this vision.
Guest musician:
Jörg Bartscher-Kleudgen ("The House Of Usher"). Live support for
Violet by "Kixtheater" and Saz musicians.
Violet have been part of the gothic, medieval and cultural scene since 1999 and have
made their mark with two albums as well as with the medieval acoustic project "Violetta". With the help of old instruments and new ideas and technologies, Violet manage to weave an acoustic texture which creates atmospheres and aims at that which can be experienced intuitively. Melancholic, intense, sensitive structures entrap the listener into this complex and dazzling web of music.
Co-operations with bands such as
"The House Of Usher" (for "Radio Cornwall") have
expanded Violet's musical spectrum and have helped consolidate their characteristic
sound. Violet have played live in Germany and abroad together with well-known acts
such as
L'Ame Immortelle, Covus Corax, Faun, Saltatio Mortis etc.
Out at 23 november.
