Temple of Guilt

<< Back

Majestic Downfall is a melodic doom metal band founded by the Mexican musician Jacobo Cordova, with whom we already got the chance to get familiar through his solo thrash metal project Ticket to Hell. This time we are dealing with a full fledge band though. The disc contains 5 tracks with a total length of 55 minutes containing atmospheric depressed doom metal, with some deathmetal influences. The doom metal of Majestic Downfall doesn’t sound very original bit it is performed professionally. The influences are clear, with My Dying Bride, old Katatonia and Novembers Doom. Minor negative aspect is the screamed vocal part, which sound annoying, while the grunt and clean vocals are fine. For the doom genre this is quite a nice release but it also seems too anonymous to make it stand out.
