Chronicles of a Dying Era

<< Back

Epochate is an industrial rock band founded by Victor Love (Dope Stars Inc.) and Noras Blake (Spineflesh). Noras Blake had written a couple of tracks with neo-classical industrial music and Victor Love who got asked to do the production saw potential in these tracks to form a complete band for it. He added his studio experiences with electro and industrial rock to that and this resulted into the nine tracks present on Chronicles of a Dying Era. Here indeed neo-classical music and industrial sample and guitar work blend nicely. The music of Epochate combines the dark neo-classical sound we known from Cold Meat and similar artists with European electro industrial influences and catchy American style industrial rock. Epochate comes close to the impact and grandeur in sound of their colleagues of Rammstein with this while they musically bring something completely different to the table. The songs of Epochate sound epic, powerful and catchy all at once and this seems to be a good recipe for commercial success. It would not surprise me if songs like ‘Substantia’ and ‘The Flood’ would be recorded for the soundtrack of an apocalyptic flavoured Hollywood movie. This first album of Epochate doesn’t only sound good but is also fun. Mission accomplished.
