Into the Sky

<< Back

The electro band Noir du Soleil hails from Australia and has their First album out with Into the Sky. They immediately released a double disc with a bonus disc containing remixes by acts such as a.o. Blood, XP8 and The Royal Dead. The first disc with the original music by Noir du Soleil however already is interesting right from the start. Noir du Soleil makes heavy pounding electro EBM with good vocals that are not what one would expect from an EBM band but remind more of J-rock or even European progressive rock music. It nevertheless fits perfectly and adds to the quality of the already quite impressive electro music of this outfit. The music contains a poetic sphere as well as heavy dance beats and reminds a bit of a combination of Soil & Eclipse and Icon of Coil.  To make the mixture of sounds even weirder regularly bass licks from the discography of The Cure are used and screams are applied that make one think the singer has a past in black metal bands. Further on the disc the postpunk elements get stronger and even the vocals make one think we're living in the 80's again. This mix of Japanese exotic visual kei elements, European postpunk and harsh EBM really works with Noir du Soleil and Into The Sky is a release which is absolutely worth checking.
