Sweet Limbo

<< Back

The French act Jabberwock is one of the most refreshing acts in the electro industrial underground. This band takes their influences for its punk and wave inspired electro attacks from a wide range in musical styles. In some tracks you will just as easy hear wave guitar melodies and postpunk feedback as industrial beats and electroclash sequences. Also a dose of industrial noise is present. Jabberwock could be seens as the underground reflection of the current electro crossover trend, but Jabberwock actually has been doing this for some years already and also their debut album made a good impression. Sweet Limbo goes beyond it with better developed tracks and more power. The socio-critical lyrics have remained judging tracks as ‘Fake’, ‘Faster’, ‘Brainbondage’, ‘Faith’ and also the ferocious Siouxsie like vocals still are a essential part in the sound of Jabberwock. A nice unexpected surprise on this album is the cover of Chic’s disco hit ‘Le Freak’ at the end of the recording. Sweet Limbo delivers in every possible way and presents a band that is not only very talented but is also able to live up to it. This is one of the best new bands in the genre. Recommended to fans of acts like The Vanishing, Alec Empire, Ayria and Pzychobitch.
