…No!

Tympanik Audio treats us again with a nice release. This time it’s from Zentriert Ins Antlitz, and electro/industrial/IDM outfit from Holger Meuler, Jürgen Warkentin and Marc Friedrich. They make interesting music with often a wide variety of styles.

This album is a has elements from IDM, trip-hop, ambient, industrial and (psy)trance. A lot of the songs on this album have a warm feel to them and are very cinematic.
The first track, ‘Phreneticus’, is very good, with a nice dark industrial atmosphere. The second track, ‘Today’, has some nice analogue synths and acid elements. Also the use of operatic samples in de beginning of the song is a nice touch. Another very nice track is ‘24th Dimension’, which sounds very spherical and cinematic, with trip-hop elements in the second half of the song. The next, ‘Cant Get Me’, track is also very good. This song also starts of very cinematic, but changes into interesting psytrance. The eleventh track, ‘…No’, really does sound like a soundtrack for a dark adventure movie, or a videogame. The album really climaxes with the last song, ‘The Final Walk’, which sounds pretty dark and spacey. This song also uses some beautiful melodies and angelic female vocals. This is also my favorite song on this album for now.

Tympanik have yet again another good release. This release actually contains two more cd’s with extra remixes, but I only have the first cd to review, so can’t say anything about that. This project also feels right at home with Tympanik, since, like a lot of their other projects, creates a wide variety of styles. This is a good album, but I’m especially fond of the last track, which sounds really beautiful. Also very usable for people who play World of Warcraft, to play as their substitute musical score. Also noteworthy is the artwork, which is also really beautiful and suits the music. Recommended.
