Strena Seu De Nive Sexangula

<< Back

A new project and a new label, it's party time in my stereo again!

Located in the United Kingdom, Fractured Spaces is a new label and the project Keplers Odd is their official first release although number two and three have been released on the same day. Also these other two releases are new names for me (Osman Arabi from Lebanon and Generic from the UK), so it is safe to say that Fractured Spaces is a name to remember when it comes to guts. Guts to release the lesser known projects and give people who deserve it a chance. Kudos!

Keplers Odd's third album - after Corrosion Control and Gro J1655-40 - carries the difficult name Strena Seu De Nive Sexangula, which probably translates to the sub-title 'A New Year's Gift Of Hexagonal Snow'. The three members are Daniel Jansson, Kristina Persson, and Magnus Moilala and you might recognise Daniel's name from the project Deadwood who released the CD's 8 19 and Ramblack on the also UK based Cold Spring.

The music on this album has many faces, there is no straightforward style being implemented here. It's ranging from guitar drones to ambient with a folkish influence to almost metal-like doom structures and noisy escapades.

Strena Seu De Nive Sexangula has music with will very much appeal to people following the activities of Sunn O))), Boris, or - more in general - activities from the Southern Lord label.
