The Berlin underground electro label Das Drehmoment has a new compilation out on which the label divided into two 12 inch records (titled Materie and Anti-Materi) presents a selection of their roster of artists in the electro-techno genre. The stylistic influences that are on offer on this sampler vary from new wave to dreamy disco electro, analogue minimal electro, new wave and EBM. Some tracks have a sci-fi atmosphere and others lean over more towards electropop and lounge music. The sound is in the basis quite underground, minimal and rooted in the 80’s. Kalson from Serbia presents Italo disco, the Lesbian Mouseclicks from The Netherlands are into electropop and the German Trans-active Nightzone is clearly influenced by the doom wave of Joy Division. Syn is a project of Nora Below and shows a punky new wave sound, the British Replicant deals in dreamy electrolounge in their contribution and Direct Control from Serbia is represented with a minimal electro track which has a strong sci-fi atmosphere. Furthermore you’ll find new wave inspired electro material of Datafreq, Polygamy Boys and Dream Disco, also known as the Dutch DJ Overdose. Ruckwarts im Uhrzeigersinn lets the heritage of acts such as Soft Cell, Fad Gadget, Sisters of Mercy, Kraftwerk and DAF revive in very good modern electro.
