Full Metal Racket

<< Back

Worlds best breakcore artist is Bong-Ra, better known as Jason Kohnen from Utrecht for friends and acquaintances. For some ten years he attacks the world with sheer violent and eclectic productions stuffed full with breakbeats and samples, in which styles such as gabber, rave, jungle and metal are mashed up with as main goal creating the most energetic dance music possible. In recent years Bong-Ra releases more material on cd through various different labels and thus it could happen that the German label Ad Noiseam releases a cd with on it two 12 inch recordings from Bong-Ra, which are ‘Grindkrusher’ and ‘Sick Sick Sick’. These two recordings most clearly show the metal roots of Jason. He was active in the thrashmetal band Prejudice and in the grindcore band Bluuurgh at the end of the 80’s and in the 90’s with the doom metal formation Celestial Season. The newly recorded and remastered releases that are compiled on Full Metal Racket reflect these times and thus you’ll hear samples from bands such as Slayer, Morbid Angel, Terrorizer, Boltthrower and Carcass in the ultra heavy breakcore from Bong-Ra, which also revives the famous sound of bands on for instance the Earache label and now not only finds it’s way to breakcore and industrial DJ sets, but also to the stereo at home or in the car. This is the ideal release for those who only recently got to know Bong-Ra’s music too. You also get remixes from Doormouse and Sickboy as well as a poster and the cd is packaged into a folded cover of Worst Case Scenario, a Dutch horrorfilm production yet to be released. Killer release!
