Edward Box has one big obsession, sharing his love of
traditional Metal with the rest of the world. Together with Pete Thompson –
Guitar, Gary Foalle – Bass, Lee Lamb - Drums he founded Vendetta in 2006 in The United Kingdom. His big dream was to create a classical Metal album, and he succeeded
very well! But don’t confuse this band with the Trash Metal band
Vendetta from Germany.
They have nothing else in common, but the name.
Lion Music has a special feeling to always find the newest
and most talented bands to add them to their big musical family. So Lion Music took Vendetta in and they released “Tyranny of
Minority” in September 2007.
Vendetta wrote history with “Tyranny of Minority”, their debut album. It’s like going back in history, everything reminds me of
the late 80’s. When Metal bands like Van Halen, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest
ruled the Metal world. Edward Box is not only a terrific guitarist but he also has
a great voice. His vocal work is so typical for traditional Metal, you’ve got
to love it! Songs like “Red Skies”, “Plastic God”, “Bones To Dust” are
marvelous. But not overdone while producing. They still not bore me, I played
this cd a couple of times this week. The ballads “Doorways of the mind” (Transcendence Pt.1) and
“Window of the soul” (Transcendence Pt.2) are 2 concept songs, and they bring
harmonically balance in the album. A album like this needs some slow songs between al the up heavy
pieces. But not to many because it has to rock, And with only 2 ballads and 10
up-tempo songs they did a very good job. So for all the traditional metal
lovers, this is a must have!
