The fun part of writing cd reviews is you always find the nicest and newest stuff.
Like the totally new band See my Solution from The Netherlands, well for me they are new. The five-headed band comes from Zwolle and they are doing pretty well in The Netherlands. To tell the true, they are doing excellent.
They gave a fantastic live show at the MetalBash 2007 (a competition for metal acts, held once a year.) They ended up as finalists, which will be held on the 4th of November at the Dynamo stage in Eindhoven. See my Solution is getting my vote for sure! Because they stole my little metal-heart.
"Puzzles like you" is a cd with 8 tracks, released on their own management. The gentleman did a good job. The sound altogether is good although the guitar parts could have been more in front now and then, if you ask me...
The cd starts with the album title "Puzzles like you". "Puzzles like you" is a song which shows you perfectly what the band is capable of. Very tight and heavy played guitar parts, fast double-bass drums, deep and understandable grunts and excellent high screams.
Sometimes those screams do my remind of the front man of Cradle of Filth. But Dani is less impressive. And I must say that See My Solutions has nothing to do or sounds like CoF. See My Solutions has his very own sound and I can not compare it with any other band, well maybe Amorphis comes close. All songs are strongly build, There is much diversity between the rough parts and the more melody-like courses.
"The inside Story", the 5th song on the album, we can hear some clean vocals for the first time. It sounds very nice between all the heavy grunts and screams. The other songs are also worth listening, because the Vocalist Ido Stoter has a very good throat and knows how to keep the attention of the listener in good hands.
See my Solution is a strong band and I really hope to hear a lot of these guys in the future!
