I remembered Luftwaffe as a very powerful Industrial/Martial band. ‘ADAM QADMON!’ rings a lot of bells here. So, I got ready to listen to some heavy stuff, probably pretty twisted here and there, but always interesting. How unprepared I was for the second song. After the intro song, ‘Xian’ (Christian?), ‘Jahada’ is not what I would expect. It starts with men canting some lyrics. No idea what they are, but they’re nice to listen to. Then, luckily, Luftwaffe as I expected it. Martial percussion and a little while later the lyrics. Not as powerful as they can be, but it’s definitely Luftwaffe!
On this release, Luftwaffe is aided by some names that will interest the most of you. AIT! and Valence (new act) are present, but the best is yet to come. Boyd Rice and Douglas P are back together on this release at the 13th song (what’s in a number?). Yes, you read that right. Boyd and Douglas playing ‘The Scent Of The Vanquished’.
Besides the typical raw, twisted and powerful songs that Luftwaffe is known for, there are also some other things around on this release. ‘Vindication Of Hate I’ for instance is very gentle and relaxed, reminding me of Concrescence. Which is good really. Concrescence’s release ‘Obscured By The Dark Years’ was very nice, and something that reminds me of something very nice is usually as well very nice.
In 58 minutes, Luftwaffe blasts 18 songs through the speakers. Before things even have the chance of becoming boring, the song is stopped. Good work. Much better than songs that are just going on and on and on, because they seem to pass some certain unknown time-mark.
With ‘Event Nihility’ is Luftwaffe certainly progressing. Cheers to them. One last word; I love their symbol.
