Italian avant-garde act Mushroom Patience and the young Polish project OutOfSight are treating us on a dose of avant-garde psychedelic sounds and rhythms on the split cd simply called “split”. Regarding Mushroom’s Patience; I can not give you any references regarding this music, simply because there aren’t any! The original music of  Mushroom’s Patience has many layers, including guitar, trumpet, electronics and samples and is well produced but since there isn’t much structure in the music it all sounds very incoherent and I loose interest after a while. This is typical stuff for freaks of avant-garde and psychedelic noise. OutOfSight on the other hand does have structure in its music, has a more slow approach and has a very dark and threatening atmosphere. The larger part of the presented songs start with a sample and/or slow drums. After a while electronics and other instrument are being added to enhance the atmosphere. Although OutOfSight is a beginning band, it sounds excellent and reminds me a little bit of Puissance and In Slaughter Natives combined with darkwave elements and more modern electronics. Certainly an act to keep in mind in the future. Although Mushroom’s Patience, in my opinion, isn’t very entertaining, OutOfSight definitely is. So it’s up to you to decide whether this split album has enough to offer you to buy this album!
