Krausefiktion

<< Back

Krause is a soloproject of Susanne Clermonts from Groningen and she is the ex-vocalist of the punkband My Sister Harold. Krause deals in gritty electro with influences from older industrial as well as electroclash. The tracks she has made so far are surprising although her vocal techniques need to get better some more. She now has three finished songs and an intro towards that named ‘Inauguration’. With rolling beats and a dark ambient sound this somewhat reminds of the music of Morgenstern. ‘Masterplan’ is an experimental electrotrack, with clashing beats and sounds and various rhythms over which Susanne sings slowly and intense. Sometimes a bit out of key, but this doesn’t irritate much. She could work some more on this though. ‘I Lost My Tampon’ is a heavy pounding electroclash track whose rhythm and title invoke associations of Cookiemonster’s ‘I Lost my Cookie in the disco’. ‘Big White Coat’ is a slightly over-the-top wicked electrotrack with lovely retro bleeps, which work really effectively. These first attempts of Krause are already very nice and promising. It can be placed somewhere in between the music of Genevieve Pasquier and Miss Kittin. I am curious what more will come out of this.
