A nuclear power station is having a meltdown, hear the sirens scream, they are piercing through your ears. This is how Atomgrad starts. The first track puts you immediately in the right mood for the pure enjoyment of this CD. This is industrial that listens as a novel and is very dynamic.  There is a slow crawling and quite uneasy song with whispering voices, bursts of white noise and seemingly lost piano chords. Now and then Break beats and scratches set in, in a dark paranoia atmosphere. Track five reminds me at “Terror compartment” by Propergol, a claustrophobic and disturbing piece. Some trip hop is coming by, a dark Massive Attack kind of song. Atomgrad has unexpected structures of ambience, downbeat gateways and at times even glimpses of hard-step industrial and dark trip hop. Ă„lymystö has a lot of power and have created a very varied an original piece of work with many different atmospheres and dynamic pieces. This band sounds original, but seems also a blend of Coil, Sanctum and Massive Attack. This is an excellent CD for people who like adventures music and is a challenge for those who dares something different Onyxia was an unknown label to me but they came with some really good releases, so this is probably a label to keep an eye on. Well, I will. Atomgrad was created consciously independent of copyright societies. For this reason, the album will doubtless be a worthwhile addition to the collections of directors and producers specialising in weird and short films, documentaries and such. The music can be freely used in productions, simply by asking for the group’s or labels permission. Â
