I had never heard from Chiasm until I got this disc. It's the newest full-length by Chiasm. Chiasm is a solo-project by Emileigh Rohn from the USA. The fact that it’s a solo-project, is obvious when you read the booklet: “all songs written, programmed, mixed, performed and produced by Emileigh Rohn”. I have to say that I expected a lot of very fast, hard-hitting songs when I saw the front, but when the disc opened with Embryonic, my mind changed about her. The next songs, Surrender, Delay, Rewind and Still, are in the same genre as the opener. She’s using the piano a lot. The songs are electronic, but you can hear the emotions in the songs. There are a few electro(/industrial) songs on the disc, such as X-Ray and Phobic. After 10 songs the disc is a little boring. However, the last 2 songs are pretty good and up-tempo (even danceable). These songs are the 2 bonus-songs (remixes) on this album. I have to say that I liked this disc when I turned it on, but after a few songs the music became a little boring. After all, this music is perfect backgroundmusic.
