Cost of Living

<< Back

Richter consists of jack and Lizz and the first thing that is noticeable when listening to ‘Cost of Living’ is that Richter makes melancholic atmospheric synthpop, which reminds of a mixture between Neuroactive and Assemblage 23. In ‘Dirty Prophet’ a guitar is used in a tasteful way. Unfortunately the overall atmosphere on this album is a bit too much of the same melancholic nature without the necessary variation, which does not add to the listening pleasure of this album, which is a pity since the material is interesting and good. This band uses samples and stilistic influences in an original way. Beside this the songs are spherical and good. Hopefully this will only get better with the second cd. Actually i have all confidence in that when listening to this record.
