Although Deadchovsky mostly sounds nicely neurotic and over the top this has also a dark side. A song like ‘Alcool’ (with a guitar that’s out of tune and a not to follow singer) is just too much. ‘Tears Of Crust’ is a better prove that Deadchovsky has a reason to exist. This song isn’t standard, but has an own face. It even reminds of the difficult structures a band like Eve Of Destiny likes to use. Pitiful enough the ideas are not really well performed. A strange song, with striking breaks and changes of direction and styles like ‘Le Sandwichier Glauque De Montmarte’ is fucked up by the singer. Pitiful enough, but true. The music starts to irritate, because the resounding voice makes the madness of the music only worse. ‘Bacterium On The Drive’ is one of those exceptions and that song sounds directly better. It’s a pity that most of the songs are nothing more than good intentions. Hopefully they will find a better microphone next time (or a better singer?).
