All My Dead Friends

<< Back

This is the first label compilation of Cold meat Industry since Flowers Made of Snow and this time the focus is on the recent additions to the Swedish label specialized in dark atmospheric music. As can be expected this sampler has styles such as neo-classical, dark ambient and martial industrial. Decadent songs in which is flirted with death. The compilation opens with an old familiar name: Atrium Carceri, who’s represented with the splendid new song ‘End Titles’, with beautiful pianoplay and cinematographic sounds. Golgatha surprises with an exciting martial track ‘Rite of Spring’. Of Rome the excellent ‘A La Faveur de la Nuit (version one)’ is represented. Beyond Sensory Experience is represented with a ritual dark ambient track ‘In the Midst of Death’ in which minimal industrial influences are reflected. Medusa’s Spell is represented on this cd with the romantic decadent ‘Lulling’. Decadence is represented with the strong sterke ‘Love is For Ever’, that somewhat reminds of the early Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio. Coph Nia shows we can expect quite a lot of the new cd judging the great track ‘Hymn to Lucifer (premix)’.

Therafter a name that is totally unknown to me: Hrafn, who’s represented with the martial neo-classical ambient track ‘Crawl into Dread’s Labyrinth Act 1’. All My Faith Lost is the newest ethereal gothic folk branch of the CMI tree and has delivered the song ‘The Waves’. Stormfaegel represents a more martial oriented side of the neo-classical folkmusic, and the vocals in ‘Hallgass’ are very beautiful. Pimentola produces excellent martial neoclassical industrial and is represented with ‘Psychopompos’. The yet unknown Tharmapsal surprises me completely with the great rhythmic ritual song ‘Molecules, out!’. Thereafter follows again a dark ambient top band, Letum who’s represented with ‘Death Will Be My Friend’. Newest addition Foundation Hope follows smoothly after that with the drone track ‘Troubled Herd Crawling’. The unknown For Greater Good show with ‘Le Jugement Du Roi En Jaune’ that they produce neo-classical martial pop that is really awesome. This promises a lot, and that goes for many of the new names on Cold meat Industry. The label seems to start a second youth. This compilation is recommend to stay familiar with their catalogue, or to get acquianted with the new names and some old familiar ones.
